206MB mega.nz/file/ZFoyzIaI#YvRby5aDR3_XucTMV-IP-AuMhRU1OXu758Vg1LuGFwgThe all-around, undisputed prototype for Seventies' "Power Pop"...the vibe of this song, to me, always came-off as being more than just a *little* like Edison Lighthouse's "Love Grows" (even though: THAT one, of course, is [enjoyable] Bubblegum fluff; while, here, you have what was/IS probably the closest hypothetical "reincarnation" of what the Beatles would have sounded like had they never broken up!). Whether; the way both of the tracks have similar hooks, the lyrical "soul-mate-declaration" of love for a mercurial/wallflower girl the singer doesn't care isn't "perfect" or; considering, how, the Lighthouse song was certainly in the air at the time as a massively catchy hit in late-'69/early-'70...it would not have been at all out of the realm of possibility to think that, maybe(?): bandmate Tom Evans' suggestion to Pete Ham about reworking it into a Top 40 Rocker (ultimately, resulting in Badfinger's first self-penned chart success) was, perhaps, inspired by such a passing notion.
