165MB mega.nz/file/NT8RBQAQ#Aya9b3Ae8CgZeCtPDAF3yIZRS-GtP2Vy4ImCJA34se4Paul's second go-around at a C&W-themed shuffle doesn't work as well as "I've Just Seen a Face" did six-years'-earlier...then, of course: the mood in 1971 had gotten far more cynical (though, I think his attempt at Country Rock with 1974's "Junior's Farm" -and its subversive wordplay- is far better inventive and memorable). Can't do anything about the bass distortion on the rhythm track. I think Ampex tried compressing it during their mastering preparation; so that it would not create cross-talk bleedthrough, which otherwise would've been audible during "Smile Away" (oppositely at the end of side 1). However, the compression seems to exacerbate things by making it more "wet". i.postimg.cc/3wVMzZqm/Polish-20201212-023459403.jpgi.postimg.cc/T2c7D9c0/Polish-20231214-152641660.jpg
