The first three-and-a-half, at least, RCA Guess Who albums are full of all these nuanced details which never lose their fascinating flavor listening to; whether, it be the arrangements of the instrumentation...or: Burton's trademark vocal "style" of making songs tell a story, then leading to an expression of climactic indignation on a descending chord. THAT was a very distinctive (and intelligent) element of the GW's sound (the kind of thing the stupid FM radio Rock press *wrongly*, at the time --- with the exception of Christgau, had tried to single-out in its critique of the group as somehow otherwise being "too polished"). i.postimg.cc/SQDN3ntP/Polish-20231229-173627720.jpgi.postimg.cc/W39LWkb6/Polish-20240106-190337877.jpg
