The Kinks had already been professionally blackballed in America by the time this came out...so, apparently(?), no one noticed -or cared- that it was a thinly-veiled imitation of "You Really Got Me". It peaked at number 11 around this time-of-year in 1966 and, began a consecutive string of Top 20 singles for P.R.& T.R. which would saturate the charts regularly until the Fall of 1967.
