It is played by (since legendary) West Coast Jazz-crossover session musician BILL PLUMMER i.postimg.cc/DyZp2S8V/Screenshot-20240122-172201-Gallery.jpg (otherwise noted for his bass playing); whom, at the time this was recorded (early-1967): would have then-been just THE SECOND WESTERN MUSICIAN TO HAVE STUDIED SITAR DIRECTLY UNDER RAVI SHANKAR (you already know who the *first* was!).
Bill Plummer also provided the soundtrack "ghost persona" for Peter Sellers' character of Hrundi V. Bakshi in the 1968 Blake Edwards' comedy THE PARTY.
